If you are 16 years old, that you validate all these conditions, a simple parental authorization will be necessary to carry out this preparation.
PMD, what is it?
Your PMD Military Discovery Preparation, is as its name suggests, a period of discovery of the military environment. It is open to all and will allow you to experience the daily life of a soldier of theLand Force through all of its activities. Registration for this preparation is obviously voluntary. This immersion period will allow you to have an excellent first approach, in order to test your motivation for a career in the military or not.
How does PMD take place?
Over a period of 3 to 10 days, military discovery preparation allows you to live in total immersion within a regiment or other military unit. You will then participate in military activities and sports such as obstacle courses, walking, shooting, but also information on the various professional courses within the army.
The key words for a PMD are: discipline and rigor. Even if this preparation is considered a period of discovery, it is still a quality instruction in order to make those immersed love the military profession. As a general rule, PMD bears fruit since on average, 80 % of participants in this period then join the institution. In addition, following this immersive period, a rating and an assessment will be attributed to your service. These can be a main quality if you later wish to join the military corps.
